Debbie interned with the Directorate of Public Prosecutions (DPP) in Kampala, Uganda, which prosecutes all criminal law cases in Uganda. Debbie’s work focused on combating child sacrifice. In one case Debbie drafted a legal memorandum to advocate for increasing the charges against the witch doctor defendant and in another case she conducted legal research and drafted a memo to have the case reopened based on procedural defects.
