Sarah interned remotely with Shared Hope International, a non-profit that seeks to prevent human trafficking, restore victims, and bring justice to the vulnerable. Sarah assisted Shared Hope with their Protected Innocence Project which rates each state’s child trafficking laws and assigns them a grade. She specifically researched vacatur laws and affirmative defenses for victims in various states. During her internship she was able to attend webinars and was present for the Secretary of State releasing the 2020 Trafficking in Persons report.
