Shannon interned for the Uganda Directorate of Public Prosecutions (DPP) and International Justice Mission (IJM). Her job was to serve as a liaison between the two organizations to ensure that both were on the same page in regards to several upcoming projects with respect to promoting the rule of law in Uganda and combatting land grabbing.
