My name is Manius Gborie, a graduate student at Handong International Law School. I was privileged to intern with the Handong International Law School (HILS)/ Regent global justice project during the winter vacation 2015-2016. I was assigned a research task with work duration of 200 hours completion. My research task consists of three potions; firstly, researching international and persuasive laws to that of Mongolia on Church Registration and freedom. Basically the research entails collection of laws related to registration limitations for churches or other religious organizations in both the international legal system and other nations’ legal systems, especially focusing on the registration limitations related to time period restrictions. Secondly, to research on the economic development related issues on the mining sector; to determine the flexibility of mining laws in Mongolia to that of other countries within the region. Finally, to research collection of laws related to religious visa issuance in other nations’ legal systems and in the international legal system that would help the Mongolia’s MP to advocate for changes in their national laws related to religious visas issuance.
Experience
It was an intrigued experience researching different countries’ laws during the research process, I realize most of those countries’ laws intertwined with their culture; basically their way of life is embed in the laws. The research enables me to understand how laws are interrelated when it comes to upholding values that would propagate justice and liberty to humanity; as well broaden my understanding on those laws that emanates from the natural law which depicts the intrinsic worth of every creation. For example, contrasting religious freedom in Mongolia to that of neighboring countries, enables me to assess similarities on how those laws exemplify the true nature of respecting humanity and how justice should be implemented through adherence to people’s free will of choices without being under duress or coerce.
The entire research experience enables me to be more abase in understanding God’s unique ways of revealing himself through cultural diversities that is embed in the laws.
