In 2016, Maitte interned with the Children’s law Center of Massachusetts. Maitte assisted the Center in providing representation and resources to low-income children and youth in immigration, education, and child welfare matters. Her experience at the CLCM opened her eyes to the tremendous amount of immigrant children in need of mental health care and the barriers that they face in accessing mental health services.
