Read about Linda’s experience:
Linda interned with the Land and Equity Movement of Uganda (LEMU), an organization that uses law and politics to bring change to Uganda by stimulating debate about land tenure and helping to protect the land rights of the vulnerable population in Uganda. Linda worked with LEMU’s Executive Director on increasing the visibility of LEMU and Customary land tenure issues and to delineate the differences between Customary land tenure and Freehold land tenure. She also worked to develop communications proposals to promote development of Customary land tenure documentation that is a fair representation of family ownership (by inheritance) or use of community land based upon the family or community Customary land laws of each regional clan on a community-by-community basis.
